ADVISORY: Sculpture removed from public space
March 12, 2019 — On March 12, the sculpture Freeze by Rebecca Belmore and Osvaldo Yero was removed from the public space outside of Remai Modern.
The piece, dedicated to the memory of Neil Stonechild, was vandalized. The artists and the museum have decided to remove the work out of respect for the family.
Remai Modern is honoured to have presented Freeze in Saskatoon and to have listened to the important conversations it catalyzed.
Belmore’s extensive exhibition Facing the Monumental is on view at Remai Modern until May 5.
