Dyani White Hawk: Exhibition Tour & Community Gathering

Join us for a guided tour of Dyani White Hawk: Love Language with the artist and exhibition co-curators, followed by a community gathering.

During the tour, Dyani White Hawk (Sičáŋǧu Lakota) will speak about her practice and selected works in conversation with co-curators Siri Engberg (Senior Curator and Head of Visual Arts, Walker Art Center) and Tarah Hogue (Adjunct Curator, Indigenous Art, Remai Modern). Together, they will share insights into the vision of the exhibition and its guiding themes—see, honour, nurture, and celebrate.

Grounded in a celebration of Lakota art forms, visual motifs, and value systems, White Hawk’s work challenges prevailing narratives of abstraction and highlights the enduring influence of Indigenous cultural production on modern and contemporary art.

Following the tour, all are welcome to stay for a community gathering in the Galleria. In the spirit of the exhibition, we invite you to visit, connect, and share coffee, tea, and bannock.

This event is free to attend and all are welcome.

Dyani White Hawk: Love Language is co-organized by Remai Modern, Saskatoon and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Lead support is provided by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
